Exergy analysis of cryogenic air separation

Energy Conversion and Management, 1998
An exergy analysis is performed to analyse the possibilities of fuel saving in the cryogenic distillation process, which is the main method of air separation. It is shown that more than half of the exergy loss takes place in the liquefaction unit and almost one-third in the air compression unit.

Exergy analysis of ramjet

Thermophysics and Aeromechanics, 2009
An exergy analysis of possible regimes of energy supply to the air flow in the ramjet duct is carried out. A condition for the supply of a given heat amount to supersonic flow and a condition of the passage across the sound velocity are obtained for a duct with variable cross-sectional area.

Energy and Exergy Analysis

2009
In this chapter, an overall view of energy matrices and embodied energy, with and without balance of system (BOS) is discussed so that the net useful electrical energy available over the life of the PV system can be evaluated. As we know that the quality of energy is more important than quantity.

Exergy analysis for a petroleum refinery : cumulative exergy consumption analysis

The aim of cumulative exergy consumption (CExC) analysis is to evaluate the qualitative amount of energy required to produce the specific products of the process under consideration. Therefore, the CExC indices of the products under consideration can be compared to those evaluated from different processes. The results obtained can be implemented to the

Exergy Analysis of Plastic Waste Management

2014
Using material flow analysis (MFA) and exergy analysis, two competing scenarios for the management of municipal plastic waste arising from private households are evaluated. In Scenario A there is no source-separation of plastics, and the mixed waste stream is sent for incineration to a waste-to-energy plant (energy recovery). In Scenario B plastics are

ENERGY-EXERGY ANALYSIS VERSUS ENERGY, EXERGY AND THERMOECONOMIC ANALYSIS – A CASE OF STUDY

Journal of Marine Technology and Environment
On board of ships, cascade refrigeration systems are used when both frozen and refrigerated products are transported. In such a situation, two different levels of temperature are ensured in the same time. There are needed two conventional refrigeration systems which are coupled by a cascade heat exchanger.
