Advanced exergy analysis of an aircraft gas turbine engine: Splitting exergy destructions into parts
Abstract Advanced exergy analysis of an aircraft gas turbine engine is presented in this paper. In this framework, the main exergy parameters of the engine components are introduced while the exergy destruction rates within the engine components are split into endogenous/exogenous and avoidable/unavoidable parts.

Comparison of PSA and amine‐based absorption for syngas purification shows that PSA offers lower energy intensity, global warming potential, and minimum selling price, making it a more sustainable option. However, absorption achieves higher syngas purity. A GREENSCOPE‐based multi‐criteria assessment guides optimal process selection.

All energy matters Let us broaden the discussion on solutions to climate change. Greenhouse gases have upset the delicate equilibrium of the Earth's energy balance. Consequently, all sources of heat affect the temperature of the Earth. Although the amount of additional heat generated by humans is a fraction of that produced by the sun, it is generated ...

Analysis of Exergy Destruction of an Evaporator or/and a Condenser
This paper presents the exergy destruction of an evaporator or a condenser or evaporator and condenser. The exergy destruction can be analytically calculated by using the same non-dimensional variables which have been used by its energy analysis. The one additional variable is the ratio of absolute input temperatures of both streams.

Energy, Exergy and Cost of Exergy Destruction for Coal-Fired Boiler in the Beverage Industry
This paper performs an energy and exergy analysis based on data obtained from selected boilers in the beverage industry. The boiler output is 16 tons/h with a pressure of 8 bar, and the steam output is saturated vapor. A boiler is designed for coal - fired fuel (sub-bituminous coal) with an economizer (heat exchanger) for recovered waste heat.

This study establishes an environmental thermoeconomic cost model to investigate the impact of two IAC technologies on the performance of a GSCC from three aspects of energy, economy, and environment. Under arid climate conditions, the SEC technology demonstrates superior performance in terms of cost‐effectiveness and environmental impact.
