Thermal exfoliation of fluorinated graphite
International audienceThe thermal exfoliation of graphite fluoride was investigated using two starting materials: fluorinated HOPG and powdered room temperature graphite fluoride (RTGF) post-treated in pure F2 gas in order to adjust the relative contents

A 3D‐printed piezoionic GPMx hydrogel enables stable electromechanical signal generation under mechanical loading, exhibiting long‐term durability and low fatigue. As a bioactive patch, it restores endogenous bioelectricity to stimulate osteogenesis via Ca2+ influx and mitochondrial activation, while simultaneously enabling label‐free alkaline ...

Toward edges-rich MoS2 layers via chemical liquid exfoliation triggering distinctive magnetism
The magnetic function of layered molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has been investigated via simulation, but few reliable experimental results have been explored. Herein, we developed edges-rich structural MoS2 nanosheets via liquid phase exfoliation approach,

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

The seminal transformation of a 2D‐COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA1) into a 2D porous COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA2) on Au(111) by a sequential C‐C coupling and ladderization triggered by thermal annealing steps at increasing temperatures is reported. Abstract The development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is currently a primary objective in materials science, taking ...

On laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry of molybdenum disulfide 2D nanomaterial
Mass spectrometric characterization of non-molecular nanomaterials has its distinctive features as compared to analysis of molecular substances. Namely, not an individual molecular ion, but a set of charged clusters is usually sputtered from solid ...

Thermal influences on spontaneous rock dome exfoliation
Rock domes, with their onion-skin layers of exfoliation sheets, are among the most captivating landforms on Earth. Long recognized as integral in shaping domes, the exact mechanism(s) by which exfoliation occurs remains enigmatic, mainly due to the lack ...
