Bipolar thianthrene derivatives exhibiting room temperature phosphorescence for oxygen sensing

Dyes and Pigments, 2019
Abstract The series of donor-acceptor (D-A) compounds consisting of a thianthrene donor and either a benzophenone or a diphenylsulfone acceptor units were designed and synthesized via Suzuki cross-coupling. By varying the number of donor units, as well as by introducing heavy atom (Br) into the molecular structure the impact of these substituents on ...

Synthesis of blue emitting ZnO nanorods exhibiting room temperature ferromagnetism

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2013
Abstract We report here a facile chemical method to prepare ZnO nanorods with micrometer length in large quantity at 80 °C. The as-prepared rods exhibited blue emission and room temperature ferromagnetism simultaneously. The PL of the as-prepared ZnO rods exhibited an overlapped broad emission in the 345–600 nm range.

Nanopillar transistors exhibiting single-electron quantum effects at room temperature

Applied Physics Letters, 2005
A nanoelectronic device consisting of a SiNx∕Si∕SiNx nanopillar and a side electrical gate has been assembled to display single-electron resonance tunneling and Coulomb modulation at 300K. The device features an ultrasmall quantum dot of size ∼10×10×3nm3 and its manufacture is fully silicon processing compatible.
