Existence and uniqueness of fuzzy ideals

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2005
Let \(R\) be a commutative ring and denote by \(FI(R)\) the set of fuzzy ideals of \(R\); i.e. the set of functions \(\mu:R\to[0,1]\) with the following conditions: (i) \(\mu(x-y)\geq\min(\mu(x),\mu(y))\), (ii) \(\mu(x,y)\geq\max(\mu(x),\mu(y))\), and (iii) \(\mu(0)>0\). Define \(\mu(R)=\{\mu(x):x\in R\}\), \(\mu_t=\{x\in R:\mu(x)\geq t\}\) and \(C_\mu:

On the Existence and Uniqueness in Linear Thermoviscoelasticity

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1997

Existence and uniqueness

2003
Abstract This chapter provides a wide class of mathematical problems which originates from the application of Maxwell’s differential equations to electromagnetic systems. Static, stationary, and transient problems are investigated for dielectrics or conductors with instantaneous response or with memory, subject to various boundary ...

Existence, Uniqueness, and Construction of Rewrite Systems

SIAM Journal on Computing, 1988
Based on the paper ``Existence and construction of rewrite systems'' by \textit{N. Dershowitz} and \textit{L. Marcus} [ATR-82(8478)-3, The Aerospace Corporation (1982)], this paper gives partial answers to the following questions: when does a given decidable equational theory have a decision procedure in the form of a canonical rewrite system, and when

Existence and uniqueness of the solution

2010
The proof of the existence and uniqueness of the solution to problems (1.22), (1.20) and (1.24) is quite similar. In this chapter, followingAlonso Rodriguez et al. [11], we mainly focus on the magnetic boundary value problem (1.22), adding in Section 3.5 a few comments on the electric boundary value problem(1.20) and the no-flux boundary value problem (

Existence and Uniqueness

2006
Abstract We begin this chapter by asking the reader to review Picard’s method introduced in Chapter 1, with particular reference to its application to Volterra equations. This done, we may fairly speedily reach the essential core of the theory of ordinary differential equations: existence and uniqueness theorems. To see that this work is

Questions of existence and uniqueness

2017
This chapter discusses the fundamental existence and uniqueness questions in symplectic topology: which manifolds admit symplectic structures, and to what extent they are unique. There are partial answers for some classes of manifolds and many related open problems.

Stability, existence and uniqueness

2009
Abstract This chapter develops the stability theory needed for the existence of the classical partition. This is extended to quantum stability with emphasis on the physically important case of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics with Coulomb interactions. The existence and uniqueness of the thermodynamic limit is discussed in detail.
