Ontology of Second Contemplative Sciences of Philosophy

open access: yesMetaphysics, 2010
It is usually thought that the best way to describe the second order philosophical concepts is to describe them as those concepts that are predicated mentally or in mind, but characterize objects externally.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Ontology of Second Contemplative Sciences of Philosophy (with reference to comment on “mental prosody and objective Sufism”)

open access: yesMetaphysics, 2010
It is usually thought that the best way to describe the second order philosophical concepts is to describe them as those concepts that are predicated mentally or in mind, but characterize objects externally. This description has been in widespread use,

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Existence results for nonlinear fourth-order elliptic boundary value problems

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
This paper is concerned with the existence of a solution of the nonlinear fourth-order elliptic boundary value problem { Δ 2 u = f ( x , u , Δ u ) , x ∈ Ω , u = Δ u = 0 , x ∈ ∂ Ω , $$ \left \{ \textstyle\begin{array}{l} {\Delta }^{2} u = f(x,\,u,\,\Delta
