Polygonal designs: some existence and non-existence results
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1999Polygonal designs originally introduced by \textit{D. C. Frank} and \textit{C. D. O'Shaughnessy} [Can. J. Stat. 2, 45-59 (1974; Zbl 0374.62071)] were studied for their existence and combinatorial properties.

An Existence Result for the Generalized Vector Equilibrium Problem on Hadamard Manifolds
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2014We present a sufficient condition for the existence of a solution to the generalized vector equilibrium problem on Hadamard manifolds using a version of the Knaster–Kuratowski–Mazurkiewicz Lemma. In particular, the existence of solutions to optimization,

In this chapter we present existence results that do not use the bounded variation technique. In particular, we shall provide a modern proof of the Folklore Theorem which established the existence of absolutely continuous invariant measure for Markov transformations. Inspired by number theoretical questions Renyi [1957] proved the first version of this

Abstract In this chapter we return at last to address some of the problems in fourmanifold topology which were raised in Chapter 1. We will prove Theorems (1.3.1) and (1.3.2) on the non-existence of manifolds with certain intersection forms. Throughout the chapter, the strategy of proof of these non-existence results will be the same.

Magnetohydrodynamic turbulent flows: Existence results
Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 2010The stochastic magnetohydrodynamics is studied. This branch of the theory is known to describe the turbulent motion of the fluid particles in a magnetic field. Especially the existence of solutions to the equations are investigated in detail. A sufficiently general forcing is considered which consist a regular part and a stochastic part and both depend

Semicontinuity and Existence Results
1999Abstract According to our previous considerations, in order to apply the direct methods to integral functionals : F(u) on Sobolev spaces or in the class of absolutely continuous functions, the key point is a semicontinuity theorem with respect to weak convergence in Sobolev spaces.

Existence and Uniqueness Results
1990In this chapter the existence of the Nash-Cournot equilibrium point in the multiproduct oligopoly game will be first investigated. Then on the basis of the general results special cases will be examined. These include models with product differentiation and the classical Cournot model.

Existence and Uniqueness Results
1994Existence and uniqueness theorems play a very central part in the theory of partial differential equations, particularly in the context of mathematical physics. The well-posedness of a Cauchy or boundary value problem is of tantamount importance for the physical interpretation and/or practical application of the equation under consideration.

Existence results for refinement equations
Aequationes Mathematicae, 2000The authors consider the functional equation \[ f(x)= \sum^N_{n=0} c_nf(kx-n), \quad c_n\geq 0,\;\sum^N_{n=0}c_n=k, \] and seek simple conditions on \(c_n\) under which this equation has nontrivial \(L_1\)-solutions. They introduce the random expression \[ Y=\sum_{n\geq 1} C_nk^{-n} \] where \(C_1, C_2,\dots\) are independent identically distributed ...
