Effects of Cancer Treatment on Somatosensory and Nociceptive Processing in Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy remains a major complication in pediatric cancer, with disrupted somatosensory and nociceptive processing being a key aspect. This review synthesizes empirical studies on alterations in somatosensory and nociceptive processing in children and adolescents with cancer.

Existence of solutions for nonconvex functional differential inclusions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2004
We prove the existence of solutions for the functional differential inclusion $x'in F(T(t)x)$, where $F$ is upper semi-continuous, compact-valued multifunction such that $F(T(t)x)subset partial V(x(t))$ on $[0,T]$, $V$ is a proper convex and lower ...

Some existence results on Cantor sets

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, 2017
The existence of two different Cantor sets, one of them contained in the set of Liouville numbers and the other one inside the set of Diophantine numbers, is proved. Finally, a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a Cantor set contained in a subset of the real line is given.

Optimal investment with taxes: an existence result [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Economics, 2000
A consumption-investment problem of the following form is considered in the continuous time framework. The agent receives an income, rebalances her portfolio, and consumes the rest (non-negative consumption is assumed). Tax has to be paid on benefits and the sales may be submitted to a FIFO priority rule imposed by the tax administration. Short selling

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

An existence result for hemivariational inequalities

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2004
We present a general method for obtaining solutions for an abstract class of hemivariational inequalities. This result extends many results to the nonsmooth case. Our proof is based on a nonsmooth version of the Mountain Pass Theorem with Palais-Smale or

Existence result for a fractional differential equation involving a special derivative

open access: yesMoroccan Journal of Pure and Applied Analysis, 2022
In this article, we establish certain sufficient conditions to show the existence of solutions of an initial value problem of fractional-ordinary differential equation in Banach space.

A non-existence result for nonlinear parabolic equations with singular measures as data [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh: Section A Mathematics, 2009
In this paper we prove a non-existence result for nonlinear parabolic problems with zero lower-order terms whose model is where Δp=div(|∇u|p−2∇u) is the usual p-laplace operator, λ is measure concentrated on a set of zero parabolic r-capacity ...

Results of the Childhood Cancer and Leukaemia Group's United Kingdom Relapsed Wilms Tumour Trial

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The United Kingdom relapsed Wilms tumour (UKW‐R) trial aimed to improve the historically low survival rates after relapse of Wilms tumour (WT) through a prospective national risk‐stratified protocol. The trial also evaluated efficacy and toxicity of high‐dose melphalan.
