Disintegrating Rocky Exoplanets [PDF]
We discuss a new class of exoplanets that appear to be emitting a tail of dusty effluents. These disintegrating planets are found close to their host stars and have very hot, and likely molten, surfaces. The properties of the dust should provide a direct probe of the constituent material of these rocky bodies.

Three transiting exoplanet candidate stars were discovered in a ground-based photometric survey prior to the launch of NASA's {\it Kepler} mission. {\it Kepler} observations of them were obtained during Quarter 1 of the {\it Kepler} mission.

Variability of Known Exoplanet Host Stars Observed by TESS
Both direct and indirect methods of exoplanet detection rely upon detailed knowledge of the potential host stars. Such stellar characterization allows for accurate extraction of planetary properties, as well as contributing to our overall understanding ...

Classification of Trajectories in a Two-planet Exosystem Using the Generalized Three-body Problem
We deploy the theory of the generalized three-body problem to describe an exosystem composed of a host star, a transiting Jupiter-sized exoplanet, and an Earth-sized exoplanet.

The internal structure of any planet is the result of its composition, radiation environment and age. Exoplanet interiors are hidden worlds that we are offered a glimpse into via the measurements of the most fundamental planet parameters; radius and mass. With this knowledge, we can distinguish rocky Earth-like planets from gaseous giants.

Tools for Learning—Promoting Reflection for Student Teachers' Development of PCK
ABSTRACT This paper investigates how the coherent integration of three different tools for reflection during a science methods course can contribute to student teachers' planning and enactment of science teaching, that is, their development of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK).

Photosynthesis in Hydrogen-Dominated Atmospheres
The diversity of extrasolar planets discovered in the last decade shows that we should not be constrained to look for life in environments similar to early or present-day Earth.

Gliese 581g as a scaled-up version of Earth: atmospheric circulation simulations
We use three-dimensional simulations to study the atmospheric circulation on the first Earth-sized exoplanet discovered in the habitable zone of an M star.

Emergent Exoplanet Flux: Review of the Spitzer Results [PDF]
Observations using the Spitzer Space Telescope provided the first detections of photons from extrasolar planets. Spitzer observations are allowing us to infer the temperature structure, composition, and dynamics of exoplanet atmospheres.

Summary One‐carbon (C1) metabolism, centered on the universal methyl donor S‐adenosyl methionine (SAM), plays critical roles in biosynthesis, redox regulation, and stress responses across plants and microbes. A recently proposed photosynthetic C1 pathway links SAM methyl groups directly to RuBisCO‐mediated CO2 assimilation and integrates with nitrogen ...
