More diverse temperate forests are more resistant against non‐native insect herbivores

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 7, July 2026.
Promoting mixed forests could be an effective strategy to attenuate the impact of invasion by non‐native forest pests. Abstract In general, trees suffer less damage by insect herbivores when growing in forest mixtures than in tree monocultures. Yet, most current knowledge is based on responses of native herbivores to tree diversity.

From pollen provision to pollinator: Species‐specific sterol assimilation by wild bees in urban landscapes

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 6, Page 1906-1920, June 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Dietary specialization is commonly used to predict species vulnerability.
