Super-expanders and warped cones [PDF]
For a Banach space $X$, we show that any family of graphs quasi-isometric to levels of a warped cone $\mathcal O_\Gamma Y$ is an expander with respect to $X$ if and only if the induced $\Gamma$-representation on $L^2(Y;X)$ has a spectral gap.

Local-To-Global Agreement Expansion via the Variance Method [PDF]
Agreement expansion is concerned with set systems for which local assignments to the sets with almost perfect pairwise consistency (i.e., most overlapping pairs of sets agree on their intersections) implies the existence of a global assignment to the ...

Testing Small Set Expansion in General Graphs [PDF]
We consider the problem of testing small set expansion for general graphs. A graph $G$ is a $(k,\phi)$-expander if every subset of volume at most $k$ has conductance at least $\phi$.

Expander Graph and Communication-Efficient Decentralized Optimization
In this paper, we discuss how to design the graph topology to reduce the communication complexity of certain algorithms for decentralized optimization. Our goal is to minimize the total communication needed to achieve a prescribed accuracy.

Dinitz, Schapira, and Valadarsky [Dinitz et al., 2017] introduced the intriguing notion of expanding expanders - a family of expander graphs with the property that every two consecutive graphs in the family differ only on a small number of edges. Such a family allows one to add and remove vertices with only few edge updates, making them useful in ...

Hot gas engine with dual crankshafts [PDF]
A hot gas engine, such as a Stirling engine is described which comprises a displacer portion and an expander portion with a heat exchanger connected between them. The expander portion has a piston which is operatively connected to and rotates an expander

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Limaçon Technology in Power Generation
Limaçon rotary machines are the heart of power generation systems, especially small- and micro-scale ones. These machines are the prime movers that play the main role in converting the potential energy to other useful forms of work, such as mechanical ...
