Impurity Measurements in the Expansion Tube
1971An assessment is given on the importance of impurities in expansion tube flow, using the results of spectroscopic measurements. The expansion tube is a new type facility which produces high energy, high Mach number flows. It has been used at the Ballistic Research Laboratories for the study of nonequilibrium effects in high temperature gases.

Investigation of the Expansion Requirement of Tube to Tube sheet Rolling Fitting
Journal of Engineering and Computer Sciences, 2014Tube Expansion is the process of reducing a tube wall by displacing the outside diameter of the tube against a fixed container such as rolling tubes into tube sheets. To assure a proper tube joint to the tubesheet, the tube wall must be reduced by a predetermined percentage. Different methods have been used to estimate the necessary amount of expansion

Spent Gas Handling for Expansion Tubes
The University of Queensland has completed extensive research into the flow of fluid around objects to simulate the re-entry of spacecraft into atmospheres and flow through scramjets (Jacobs et al., Unknown). This has been made possible through the use of expansion tubes which can reach gas flow velocities in excess of 10km/s (Jacobs et al., Unknown ...openaire +2 more sources
Level of Expansion of Tubes in Tubesheet for Integral Participation of Tubes With Tubesheet
Volume 4: Gas Turbines; Pressure Technologies; Robotics & AutomationAbstract Tubesheets in heat exchangers are drilled to accommodate tubes as per the thermal design for effective heat transfer which are usually in close proximities. Though minimum permissible distance is maintained, which is the pitch between the tubeholes; there is very limited material remaining between the tubeholes greatly ...

Low-Temperature Expansion Pulse Tubes
1984Pulse tube refrigeration units using the Gifford-Longsworth cycle are remarkable among other types of low-temperature devices because of their simplicity and reliability. They are not widely used in cryogenics, however, because of their low efficiency and small refrigerating capacity, partly because of their low pulse frequency.

Development and Modelling of Expansion Tubes
The accurate simulation of flow conditions encountered by aircraft is imperative to the development of aeronautics and astronautics. Test flights are expensive and time consuming, thus, ground based test facilities provide the majority of data in new flight regimes.openaire +2 more sources

Analysis of Experimental Data of the X3 Expansion Tube
The University of Queensland (UQ) Mechanical Engineering Department currently houses three expansion tubes (X1, X2 and X3) that are used to create hypersonic flows. Recently the experimental results of the X3 shock tube section have been found to be inaccurate.openaire +2 more sources
