Inequalities for independent random vectors under sublinear expectations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, by using the representation theorem for sublinear expectations, we give a simple proof to obtain two inequalities about the sample mean for independent random vectors under sublinear expectations.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Relevance of a neutral cue in a two-choice detection task in the rat

open access: yesBiological Research, 2006
Relevance of a neutral cue for performance in a two-choice visuospatial detection task was examined. Nine rats were trained, 5 with short intertrial interval (ITI) and 4 with long ITI, to detect a target (lateral lights) presented after a neutral-cue ...

Marcinkiewicz-type laws of large numbers for pseudo-independent random variables under sublinear expectations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
As a kind of independence of random variables under sublinear expectations, pseudo-independence is weaker than Peng's independence. We shall give Marcinkiewicz-type weak and strong laws of large numbers for pseudo-independent random variables under the framework of sublinear expectations.

Enhancing patient engagement in cancer research: a focus on patient‐centric approaches to scientific discovery

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient engagement involves actively including patients in healthcare decisions and research to ensure care and studies align with their needs. This approach improves outcomes, trust, and communication while fostering collaboration between patients and professionals.

A neutral cue facilitates detection of a visual target by modulating attention

open access: yesBiological Research, 2008
Twelve rats were trained to perform a two-choice visual detection task in which a right or left light was presented and the animáis were required to press the lever located under the illuminated light for a food reward.
