Pathological Status of Pyricularia angulata Causing Blast and Pitting Disease of Banana in Eastern India

open access: yesThe Plant Pathology Journal, 2017
Incidence of leaf blast on nursery plants and pitting disease on maturing banana bunches has been recorded in banana plantations during rainy season in Eastern India during 2014 to 2015.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

TOURISM EXPERIENCES AS EXPERIENCE ECONOMY [PDF]

open access: yesEconomic and Social Development 45th International Scientific Conference on Economic and Social Development – XIX International Social Congress (ISC 2019) : Book of Proceedings, 2019
The development of tourist products based on experience as the key exchange value requires an interdisciplinary approach, which, with applied marketing activities and competitive positioning by means of identity affirmation, leads to the positioning of tourist offer from the aspect of the experience economy.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Rapid and reliable diagnosis of Moraxella catarrhalis infection using loop-mediated isothermal amplification-based testing

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Moraxella catarrhalis (M. catarrhalis) was an important pathogen closely associated with respiratory tract infections. We employed the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) coupled with nanoparticle-based lateral flow biosensor (LFB) and ...

Long term effect of INM on aonla (Emblica officinalis) and soil quality under rainfed hot semi-arid environment

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2014
The experiment was conducted on seven and eight years old aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn) tree of NA-7 to study the influence of various levels of organic (FYM and biofertilizers) and inorganic (NPK) sources of nutrients on morphometrix, productivity ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
