Detecting precise firing sequences in experimental data
Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2001A precise firing sequence (PFS) is defined here as a sequence of three spikes with fixed delays (up to some time accuracy Delta), that repeat excessively. This paper provides guidelines for detecting PFSs, verifying their significance through surrogate spike trains, and identifying existing PFSs.

Development of a precise experimental burn model
Burns, 2016Porcine wounds closely mimic human wounds and are often used experimentally in burn studies. Multiple burn devices have been reported but they rarely described precise amount of heat transfer and the burn devices generally have low and varying heat capacity resulting in significant and varying temperature drop. The authors developed a customized ...

Precision Experimental Verification of Special Relativity
Physical Review Letters, 1978We compare the results of precision electron $g$-factor experiments at low energy and at 110 keV. The agreement between these measurements constitutes the most precise laboratory confirmation to date of the predictions of special relativity. Relativistic electromagnetic theory and Thomas precession are verified in this test.

An Experimentation Platform for Precision Medicine
Proceedings of the 42nd International ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval, 2019Precision medicine - where data from patients, their genes, their lifestyles and the available treatments and their combination are taken into account for finding a suitable treatment - requires searching the biomedical literature and other resources such as clinical trials with the patients' information. The retrieved information could then be used in

Statistical models of yield in on‐farm precision experimentation
Agronomy Journal, 2021AbstractOn‐farm precision experimentation (OFPE) is increasingly conducted using variable‐rate technology and precision agriculture (PA) equipment to measure the effect of changes in input application rates on yields and profits at specific fields. Classical linear regression models and new Bayesian and machine learning regressions for spatial data can

Dynamic precision analysis and experimental verification of high-speed precision punch press
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2016In order to investigate the impact factors and their affection on high-speed precision multilink punch press (MPP), the dynamic model with different joint clearance was established, and the influence of different clearance and speed on the dynamic positional repeatability of bottom dead center (BDC) was analyzed.

Inverse Problems, 2005
In the present paper, the experimental set-up of Institut Fresnel used to measure the scattered fields of different elongated objects is precisely described. Since the special issue on ‘Testing inversion algorithms against experimental data’, the modifications of this system, outlined here, have mostly been done to improve the synchronization of the ...
