Experimental Approaches to Moral Standing

Philosophy Compass, 2015
Abstract Moral patients deserve moral consideration and concern – they have moral standing. What factors drive attributions of moral standing? Understanding these factors is important because it indicates how broadly (or narrowly) individuals conceptualize the moral world, and suggests how they will treat various entities, both human ...

An Experimental Stand for Polystructural Precision Winding

Fibre Chemistry, 2019
An experimental stand is designed to wind simultaneously several threads forming structures of their own in the winding body. The data on technical characteristics and potentialities of the stand are furnished.

Stand for experimental studying of regenerative braking

2020 12th Electrical Engineering Faculty Conference (BulEF), 2020
A discussion about a stand for experimental studying of regenerative braking of an electric vehicle (EV) is presented in this paper. As regenerative braking is dependent on many different various factors, the stand is purposed to recreate the electric part of the powertrain system of an EV and study the process of regeneration and its efficiency.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF STANDS FOR EXPERIMENTAL CUTTINGS

An experimental study of tire standing waves

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
Small-scale test rigs for experimental investigations of tire standing wave instability are described. The rigs are used in experiments in which tire rotational speed is gradually increased past the critical speed at which standing waves appear around the circumference of the tire. Detailed results from one of the rigs are presented.

Experimental Study for Arm Fetch Accessibility in Standing Posture

2021
This paper takes high storage racks as the research background. By setting storage racks of different height and depth, this paper measures the arm fetch accessibility of adults with median Anthropometric dimension under different combinations of rack height and depth, providing data support for the design of high storage rack.

The experimental study on the standing solitary waves

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
The experimental study on the characteristic of solitons observed by Rajchenbach[1] have been done. The driving frequency, nondimensional acceleration and depth of the fluid are chosen to analyze the characteristics of the wave. The wave height changes with the first two mentioned as the same way as faraday waves.

Bistability and nonlinear standing waves in an experimental transmission line

Physics Letters A, 1993
The bistability of the transfer function and the spatial dependence of the voltage envelope are investigated near the lower gap on a finite electrical transmission line. The nonlinear standing wave behaviour and the bistability in our experiments agree with our theoretical predictions, which take into account the damping of the line.

Experimental study of standing edge waves

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1986
Fundamental properties of standing edge waves are investigated experimentally in a physical model with a uniformly and mildly sloping beach with a straight shoreline. Using a unique experimental set-up, quantitative measurements for the detailed nonlinear effects of edge waves are obtained.

Arm-free paraplegic standing. II. Experimental results

IEEE Transactions on Rehabilitation Engineering, 1998
In Part I, we proposed an approach for restoring unsupported standing to thoracic-level paraplegics. The theoretical analysis and simulation of an underactuated double inverted pendulum, representing the standing subject, showed that arm-free standing might be achieved.
