THE THERMAL EXPLOSION OF LEAD AZIDE
The minimum explosion temperatures for service and dextrin azides (about 315 °C. and 275 °C., respectively) are increased considerably by increase of surface: volume ratio of the container and by compressing or wetting the charge with dibutyl phthalate ...

Nonlocal Metaspire: A Scalable Elastic Material Platform With Decoupled Mechanical Modes
Nonlocal Metaspire introduces sequential rotation to realize wider scalability in implementing complex nonlocal couplings in elastic metamaterials while suppressing unintended mode coupling. Numerical results clarify the underlying wave motions, demonstrate mode‐decoupled roton and maxon formation, and support a straightforward extension to higher ...

Femtosecond‐Laser Mould Texturing Enables Tunable Biointerfaces in COC Microfluidics
Femtosecond‐laser texturing of injection‐mould inserts enables scalable engineering of biointerfaces in cyclic olefin copolymer microfluidics. Replicated micro‐ and nano‐topographies modulate surface roughness and wettability, leading to texture‐dependent protein adsorption and cell adhesion without chemical post‐processing.

Mist Explosions using the Hartmann Dust Explosion Equipment [PDF]
Explosion hazards in the USA and EU include gases, vapors, mists and dusts. There is guidance on the measurement of lean flammability limit and reactivity for gases, vapors and dusts but not for mists explosions.
