Effect of initial pressure on the lower explosion limit of nicotinic acid/acetone mixture

open access: yesJournal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, 2020
In the work presented in this paper, the effect of initial pressure on the lower explosion limit (LEL) of the hybrid nicotinic acid/acetone mixture was investigated through standard explosion tests carried out in the 20 L sphere.

The limits of dust explosibility

Fire Technology, 1967
Over the past half century, the dust explosion hazard has been attacked from many angles. This paper examines the problem, briefly reviews past efforts, and discusses recent modifications and techniques for measuring explosibility limits.

Limits of Gaseous Explosions

Nature, 1931
IT was stated long ago that the kinetics of gaseous reactions do not submit to the laws of classical physical chemistry. In particular, deviations from the law of mass action are best of all illustrated by the presence of the pressure limits for a thermal ignition.

Explosion limits for combustible gases

Mining Science and Technology (China), 2009
Abstract Combustible gases in coal mines are composed of methane, hydrogen, some multi-carbon alkane gases and other gases. Based on a numerical calculation, the explosion limits of combustible gases were studied, showing that these limits are related to the concentrations of different components in the mixture.

Structure of the thermal explosion limit

Combustion and Flame, 1988
Abstract In a closed system an explosion limit is the transition region which separates the regions of slow and explosive reactions with respect to initial conditions. In the present paper the characteristic features of chemical reaction in the transition region are investigated for thermal explosion.

The determination of explosion limits

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1937
AbstractThe author proposes to accept the progressive reaction, which is possible in many gas mixtures (and mixtures of solid substances) when the reaction is started locally, as the criterion of explosivity. An explosion limit is then exclusively a property of the mixture under the given conditions and the confusing “influence of the ignition” can be ...
