Predictive factors of psychosomatic reactions during air raids [PDF]
Background. Civilian population of Yugoslavia was exposed to massive stressors of air raids by NATO in 1999. The aim of this study was to investigate somatic complaints and their predictive factors during stresses of air raids. Methods.

Low-energy Population III supernovae and the origin of extremely metal-poor stars [PDF]
Some ancient, dim, metal-poor stars may have formed in the ashes of the first supernovae (SNe). If their chemical abundances can be reconciled with the elemental yields of specific Population III (Pop III) explosions, they could reveal the properties of ...

In the present paper it is shown that if a flow satisfies Smale’s Axiom A’ {\text {A’}} and there is a cycle on its nonwandering set Ω \Omega , then the flow is not Ω \Omega -stable. This is done by “blowing up” the nonwandering set with a small perturbation.

The objective of the present paper is to describe the clinical and computed tomography features of ′explosive pleuritis′, an entity first named by Braman and Donat in 1986, and to propose a case definition. A case report of a previously healthy, 45‐year‐old man admitted to hospital with acute onset pleuritic chest pain is presented.

Offshore Oil and Gas Safety: Protection against Explosions
Offshore oil and gas operations carry a high risk of explosions, which can be efficiently prevented in many cases. The two most used approaches for prevention are: (1) the “International Electrotechnical Commission System for Certification to Standards ...

Cosmic explosions are observed in many astrophysical environments. They range in scale from hydromagnetic instabilities in the terrestrial magnetotail and solar ``nanoflares'' to cosmological gamma ray bursts, supernovae and the protracted intervals of ...

Resolving the Formation of Protogalaxies. III. Feedback from the First Stars [PDF]
The first stars form in dark matter halos of masses ~10^6 M_sun as suggested by an increasing number of numerical simulations. Radiation feedback from these stars expels most of the gas from their shallow potential well of their surrounding dark matter ...

Dense, Fe-rich Ejecta in Supernova Remnants DEM L238 and DEM L249: A New Class of Type Ia Supernova? [PDF]
We present observations of two LMC supernova remnants (SNRs), DEM L238 and DEM L249, with the Chandra and XMM-Newton X-ray satellites. Bright central emission, surrounded by a faint shell, is present in both remnants. The central emission has an entirely
