Interactions of inert confiners with explosives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The deformation of an inert confiner by a steady detonation wave in an adjacent explosive is investigated for cases where the confiner is suciently strong (or the explosive suciently weak) such that the overall change in the sound speed of the inert ...

Effects of Temperature Annealing on the Intrinsic Transport Mechanisms of Solution Processed Graphene Nanosheet Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Unravelling charge transport mechanisms in graphene nanosheet networks: by combining temperature‐dependent conductivity measurements with a Random Resistor Network model, this study identifies a transition from hopping‐dominated conduction to a band‐like transport mechanism.

Numerical Simulation of Explosive Forming Using Detonating Fuse

open access: yesInternational Journal of Multiphysics, 2017
The explosive forming is a characteristic method. An underwater shock wave is generated by underwater explosion of an explosive. A metal plate is affected high strain rate by the shock loading and is formed along a metal die. Although this method has the

Atomic hydrogen storage method and apparatus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Atomic hydrogen, for use as a fuel or as an explosive, is stored in the presence of a strong magnetic field in exfoliated layered compounds such as molybdenum disulfide or an elemental layer material such as graphite.

Copper‐based Materials for Photo and Electrocatalytic Process: Advancing Renewable Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),

Emergency in-flight egress opening for general aviation aircraft [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
An emergency in-flight egress system was installed in a light general aviation airplane. The airplane had no provision for egress on the left side.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Experiments on Ballistic Tests for Improving Performance of a Neutralizing Gas Dynamics System

open access: yesThe Annals of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati. Fascicle IX, Metallurgy and Materials Science, 2014
Neutralizing improvised explosive devices (handmade) by mechanical separation of the elements which are part of their composition can be achieved by the following methods: - generation of shock waves by means of the impact method between a projectile or ...

The Possible White Dwarf-Neutron Star Connection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The current status of the problem of whether neutron stars can form, in close binary systems, by accretion-induced collapse (AIC) of white dwarfs is examined. We find that, in principle, both initially cold C+O white dwarfs in the high-mass tail of their

Single‐Step Conversion of Metal Impurities in CNTs to Electroactive Metallic Nitride Nanoclusters for Electrochemical CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐step, low‐temperature co‐pyrolysis process removes encapsulated seed metal NPs (10–50 nm) from CNTs, redistributing them as surface‐anchored metal and metal–nitride NCs (1–1.5 nm). Herein, Ni3N NCs achieve an ultra‐low onset overpotential for CO2 reduction to CO with >98% Faradaic efficiency across 100–700 mA cm−2.
