Chaotic explosions [PDF]

open access: yesEPL (Europhysics Letters), 2015
We investigate chaotic dynamical systems for which the intensity of trajectories might grow unlimited in time. We show that (i) the intensity grows exponentially in time and is distributed spatially according to a fractal measure with an information dimension smaller than that of the phase space,(ii) such exploding cases can be described by an operator

Review of current coal rib control practices

open access: yesUnderground Space, 2023
The instability of coal ribs in underground mines continues to result in the injuries and fatalities of mine workers. The proper estimation and evaluation of primary and secondary support for coal ribs is still a challenging problem in the field of ...

An efficient energy characteristics and explosion heat improving method of FOX-7-based aluminized explosives

open access: yesFirePhysChem, 2021
Exploring new composite explosives based on 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene (FOX-7) is significant in the field of insensitive high explosives (IHE). Despite having good detonation performance compared to RDX, FOX-7 has not been successfully applied in ...

Technical and safety aspects at the demolition by blasting works of a cooling tower with a high of 72.00 m [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2020
From the point of view of demolition, one of the most interesting construction categories is the hyperboloid shape cooling towers. These seemingly fragile structures support at the base on a reinforced concrete belt and pillars.

The danger of initiating explosives by electrostatic discharge. Checking the level of sensitivity of explosives to electrostatic discharges [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2022
Explosives designed for civil uses can be, in some cases, be triggered by accident due to electrostatic discharge. Static electricity, as a source of electrostatic discharge, is a common phenomenon in the explosives manufacturing industry.
