Quantum Emitters in Hexagonal Boron Nitride: Principles, Engineering and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride have emerged as a promising candidate for quantum information science. This review examines the fundamentals of these quantum emitters, including their level structures, defect engineering, and their possible chemical structures.

Spike-Based Bayesian-Hebbian Learning of Temporal Sequences.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2016
Many cognitive and motor functions are enabled by the temporal representation and processing of stimuli, but it remains an open issue how neocortical microcircuits can reliably encode and replay such sequences of information. To better understand this, a

Global attractor and robust exponential attractors for some classes of fourth-order nonlinear evolution equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We study the long-time behaviour of solutions to some classes of fourth-order nonlinear PDEs with non-monotone nonlinearities, which include the Landau--Lifshitz--Baryakhtar (LLBar) equation (with all relevant fields and spin torques) and the convective Cahn--Hilliard/Allen--Cahn (CH-AC) equation with a proliferation term, in dimensions $d=1,2,3 ...

Identification and Reversible Optical Switching of NV+ Centers in Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
NV+ centers in diamond are predicted to coexist with NV0 and NV– centers, but direct experimental confirmation remains challenging. Using positron annihilation spectroscopy with in situ light illumination, a charge transition NV+/0 is observed at 1.234(8) eV.

Finite fractal dimensionality of attractors for nonlocal evolution equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this work we consider the Dirichlet problem governed by a non local evolution equation. We prove the existence of exponential attractors for the flow generated by this problem, and as a consequence we obtain the finite dimensionality of the global

Generalized exponential pullback attractor for a nonautonomous wave equation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this work we introduce the concept of generalized exponential $\mathfrak{D}$-pullback attractor for evolution processes, where $\mathfrak{D}$ is a universe of families in $X$, which is a compact and positively invariant family that pullback attracts all elements of $\mathfrak{D}$ with an exponential rate.

Integration of Perovskite/Low‐Dimensional Material Heterostructures for Optoelectronics and Artificial Visual Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heterojunctions combining halide perovskites with low‐dimensional materials enhance optoelectronic devices by enabling precise charge control and improving efficiency, stability, and speed. These synergies advance flexible electronics, wearable sensors, and neuromorphic computing, mimicking biological vision for real‐time image analysis and intelligent

Deterministic Writing of Field‐Free and Unipolar Spin‐Transfer Torque Magnetic Random‐Access Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Deterministic unipolar‐switching STT‐MRAM with field‐free operation is experimentally demonstrated. The device features a compact 4F2 cell architecture using a diode as the access device and a single magnetic tunneling junction. Unlike conventional bipolar switching STT‐MRAM requiring a three‐terminal access transistor in the array, this design offers ...
