The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Some Applications of Near-Order Statistics in Two-Parameter Exponential Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
In this paper, some characterization results for exponential distribution are established. The results are concluded in terms of number of observations near of order statistics.

Characterizations of Certain Recently Introduced Distributions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2013
Various characterizations of the Beta Weibull Geometric distribution of Bidram et al. (2011), the New Generalized Exponential distribution of Bidram et al. (2012), and the Gamma Exponentiated Weibull distribution of Pinho et al.

Multivariate Matrix-Exponential Distributions [PDF]

open access: yesStochastic Models, 2010
We review what is currently known about one-dimensional distributions on the non-negative reals with rational Laplace transform, also known as matrix-exponential distributions. In particular we discuss a flow interpreation which enables one to mimic certain probabilisticly inspired arguments which are known from the theory of phase-type ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Chaperone driven polymer translocation through Nanopore: spatial distribution and binding energy

open access: yes, 2016
Chaperones are binding proteins which work as a driving force to bias the biopolymer translocation by binding to it near the pore and preventing its backsliding. Chaperones may have different spatial distribution. Recently we show the importance of their

On the Properties and Applications of Transmuted Odd Generalized Exponential-Exponential Distribution

open access: yesAsian Journal of Probability and Statistics, 2018
This article proposed a new distribution referred to as the transmuted odd generalized exponential-exponential distribution (TOGEED) as an extension of the popular odd generalized exponential- exponential distribution by using the Quadratic rank ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

An Extension of the Fréchet Distribution and Applications

open access: yesAxioms
This paper presents the Slash-Exponential-Fréchet distribution, which is an expanded version of the Fréchet distribution. Through its stochastic representation, probability distribution function, moments and other relevant features are obtained. Evidence

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.
