LAWS OF PULSE MAGNETIC FIELD STRENGTH DISTRIBUTION BEING CLOSE TO ELECTRIC CONDUCTING MATERIALS
On the basis of experimental data pertaining to the effect of pulse electric and magnetic fields in the form of a semi-sinusoid of a primary linear source linear dependences of maximum magnetic field strength of a secondary source are ascertained on the ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Exact and Approximate Determinization of Discounted-Sum Automata [PDF]
A discounted-sum automaton (NDA) is a nondeterministic finite automaton with edge weights, valuing a run by the discounted sum of visited edge weights.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Light management can optimize algal biomass and biochemical composition, but responses vary based on growth stage and harvesting time. A 22 factorial design along with 3 center point runs was used to investigate the effects of light intensity (50, 100 ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Exponentially Convergent Algorithms for Supervised Matrix Factorization
Supervised matrix factorization (SMF) is a classical machine learning method that simultaneously seeks feature extraction and classification tasks, which are not necessarily a priori aligned objectives. Our goal is to use SMF to learn low-rank latent factors that offer interpretable, data-reconstructive, and class-discriminative features, addressing ...

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Krylov SSP Integrating Factor Runge–Kutta WENO Methods
Weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO) methods are especially efficient for numerically solving nonlinear hyperbolic equations. In order to achieve strong stability and large time-steps, strong stability preserving (SSP) integrating factor (IF ...
