LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Non-Linear Dynamic Modelling and Morecasting in Numbers of Patients with Cancer Disease in Nineveh City by Using Bayesian Approach [PDF]

open access: yesالمجلة العراقية للعلوم الاحصائية, 2011
This research deals with modeling cumulative number of patients with cancer disease in Nineveh Iraq. The method is based on classes of Exponential Growth Models and uses the ideas of Non-Linear Dynamic Generalized Model(NLDGM). We take three types of ;

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Revisiting the time-ordering issue of TMD soft factors: causality, coordinate space analyticity and new equalities

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We show that as a result of causality-constrained coordinate space analyticity, the Drell-Yan-shape transverse-momentum dependent soft factor in the exponential regulator allows Euclidean-type parametric representations without cuts, to all orders in ...

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

KINETIC STUDY OF THE ENZYME CONVERSION OF STEAM EXPLODED PAULOWNIA TOMENTOSA TO GLUCOSE

open access: yesBioResources, 2011
Paulownia Tomentosa was pretreated by steam explosion. The cellulase complex NS 50013 and the β-glucosidase NS 50010 of Novozymes AS were used for the enzymatic conversion of cellulose to glucose.

A Linear Regression Model for Determining the Pre-Exponential Factor and Interfacial Energy Based on the Metastable Zone Width Data

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
A linear regression model is presented in this study to determine the pre-exponential factor and interfacial energy of the crystallized substance based on classical nucleation theory using the metastable zone width data.

Antibiofilm activity of a chionodracine‐derived peptide by NMR‐based metabolomics of cell‐free supernatant of Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Thermal Degradation Kinetics of Natural Fibers: Determination of the Kinetic Triplet and Lifetime Prediction

open access: yesPolysaccharides
Natural fibers have been widely employed in different fields as composite materials. However, the thermal behavior of natural materials is not fully understood since the chemical components chemically interact with each other.
