Exponential stability in a scalar functional differential equation

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2006
We establish a criterion for the global exponential stability of the zero solution of the scalar retarded functional differential equation whose linear part generates a monotone semiflow on the phase space with respect to the exponential ordering ...

A perspective on graph theory-based stability analysis of impulsive stochastic recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
In this work, the exponential stability problem of impulsive recurrent neural networks is investigated; discrete time delay, continuously distributed delay and stochastic noise are simultaneously taken into consideration.

Genome increase as a clock for the origin and evolution of life

open access: yesBiology Direct, 2006
Background The size of non-redundant functional genome can be an indicator of biological complexity of living organisms. Several positive feedback mechanisms including gene cooperation and duplication with subsequent specialization may result in the ...

Variational Approach to Yang--Mills Theory with non-Gaussian Wave Functionals

open access: yes, 2010
A general method for treating non-Gaussian wave functionals in quantum field theory is presented and applied to the Hamiltonian approach to Yang-Mills theory in Coulomb gauge in order to include a three-gluon kernel in the exponential of the vacuum wave ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Generalized Functional Additive Mixed Models

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a comprehensive framework for additive regression models for non-Gaussian functional responses, allowing for multiple (partially) nested or crossed functional random effects with flexible correlation structures for, e.g., spatial, temporal, or

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

DIFFUSION IN ONE DIMENSIONAL RANDOM MEDIUM AND HYPERBOLIC BROWNIAN MOTION

open access: yes, 1995
Classical diffusion in a random medium involves an exponential functional of Brownian motion. This functional also appears in the study of Brownian diffusion on a Riemann surface of constant negative curvature.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
