EXPONENTIAL GROWTH

The Physics Teacher, 2020
Exponential growth features frequently in epidemiological projections. Because of carelessness or ignorance, its implications can be easily, and sometimes grievously, underestimated. Sheldon Lee Glashow provides a brief refresher, along with a dramatic demonstration of the power of exponential growth as found in the legend of the chessboard, described ...

Non-Exponential Growth Theory

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2023
The per capita real GDP growth rate has been remarkably stable for many decades in most developed countries. To explain the balanced growth, however, existing endogenous growth theories typically need to assume a knife-edge degree of externality, which is not yet confirmed by micro-level observations.

One-Relator Groups of Exponential Growth Have Uniformly Exponential Growth

Mathematical Notes, 2001
It is proved that any one-relator group \(\Gamma\) of exponential growth is of uniformly exponential growth and \(\omega(\Gamma)\geq\root 4\of 2\).

Exponentiated Exponential Software Reliability Growth Model

International Journal of Advancements in Computing Technology, 2009
The nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) model is an important class of time-domain software reliability models and is widely used in software reliability Engineering. Traditionally, the error detection rate of NHPP models is usually assumed to be a continuous and monotonic function. In this paper, we present an exponentiated exponential growth model,

Cardiac CT Research: Exponential Growth

Radiology, 2009
To evaluate the increase in cardiac x-ray computed tomographic (CT) research and the relative contributions of radiologists and cardiologists. This observational study of public data was exempt from institutional review board approval. The National Library of Medicine MEDLINE database was searched for articles published between 1996 and 2006 in which CT

Exponential growth and allometric equations

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1982
Abstract Earlier the simple exponential growth law has been used when attempts have been made to explain theoretically the existence of allometric equations in biology (Bertalanffy, 1968; Giinther, 1975). We show here that the exponential growth law in which the proportion coefficient also depends on time is a better approximation.

Exponential growth bound and exponential stability

1998
In Section 5.1, we characterize the exponential growth bound of the propagators of (ACP n ) in a Hilbert space in terms of the behavior of on vertical lines in a half complex plane. As a consequence we show that the propagators are exponentially stable if P λ is boundedly invertible in {λ ∈ C; Reλ ≥ 0} with uniformly bounded there.
