Modulating Interfacial Potential Gradients in Metal−Carbon Catalysts via Phase‐Engineering for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is elucidated that phase engineering of cobalt modulates the interfacial potential gradients of cobalt–carbon electrocatalysts, enhancing the intrinsic electrocatalytic performance. Modulating the dominant crystalline phase of cobalt from a hexagonal close‐packed to a face‐centered cubic enriches the electron density of carbon shells, thereby ...

Unraveling Quantitative Sensing Mechanism and Predictive Molecular Metrics for High‐Performance OFET Amine Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel chloro boron subphthalocyanine/polymer blend OFET sensor achieving 0.005 ppb limit of detection for ammonia at room temperature and high selectivity against similar amines. An original theoretical framework is proposed to describe the sensing mechanism, relating analyte molecular volume and Lewis basicity to sensor ...

Dual‐Layer Living Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Delivery of Phages and Probiotics for Synergistic Wound Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer living hydrogel, ProΦGel, integrates bacteriophages and probiotics for synergistic wound infection therapy. The outer gelatin‐based matrix releases phages on demand in response to P. aeruginosa infections, while inner alginate beads sustain probiotic delivery.

Unraveling the Heterogeneity of Cargo Distribution in the Exogenous Association of Proteins With Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

EXPONENTIAL GROWTH

The Physics Teacher, 2020
Exponential growth features frequently in epidemiological projections. Because of carelessness or ignorance, its implications can be easily, and sometimes grievously, underestimated. Sheldon Lee Glashow provides a brief refresher, along with a dramatic demonstration of the power of exponential growth as found in the legend of the chessboard, described ...

One-Relator Groups of Exponential Growth Have Uniformly Exponential Growth

Mathematical Notes, 2001
It is proved that any one-relator group \(\Gamma\) of exponential growth is of uniformly exponential growth and \(\omega(\Gamma)\geq\root 4\of 2\).

Exponential growth and allometric equations

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1982
Abstract Earlier the simple exponential growth law has been used when attempts have been made to explain theoretically the existence of allometric equations in biology (Bertalanffy, 1968; Giinther, 1975). We show here that the exponential growth law in which the proportion coefficient also depends on time is a better approximation.
