The Viability of the Refractory High‐Entropy Alloy AlMo0.5NbTa0.5TiZr for High‐Temperature Structural Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Refractory high‐entropy alloys have attracted substantial attention for future ultrahigh‐temperature structural applications. Here the progression of key phase transformations in AlMo0.5NbTa0.5TiZr is established and correlated to the mechanical performance, highlighting the importance of the B2 phase.

Exponential stability of modified truncated EM method for stochastic differential equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Exponential stability of modified truncated Euler-Maruyama method for stochastic differential equations are investigated in this paper. Sufficient conditions for the $p$-th moment and almost sure exponential stability of the given numerical method are presented. An example is provided to support our conclusions.

An Examination of Aerosol Jet‐Printed Surface Roughness and its Impact on the Performance of High‐Frequency Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores aerosol jet‐printed (AJP) surface roughness, its effects on the performance of microwave electronics, and its process contributors. First, an electromagnetic model is vetted for AJP's unique roughness signature. Simulations are built which show process‐induced roughness is as significant as conductor resistivity in driving microwave

Stability of Exponential Functional Equations with Involutions

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2014
Let S be a commutative semigroup if not otherwise specified and f:S→ℝ. In this paper we consider the stability of exponential functional equations |f(x+σ(y))-g(x)f(y)|≤ϕ(x) or  ϕ(y), |f(x+σ(y))-f(x)g(y)|≤ϕ(x) or ϕ(y) for all x,y∈S and where σ:S→S is an ...

Stability analysis for a class of nonlinear time-changed systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
This paper investigates the stability of a class of differential systems time-changed by $E_{t}$ which is the inverse of a $\beta$-stable subordinator. In order to explore stability, a time-changed Gronwall's inequality and a generalized It\^o formula related to both the natural time $t$ and the time-change $E_{t}$ are developed.

Scalable Manufacturing of Radiation‐Tolerant Potentiometric Electrodes: A Systematic Transition from Laboratory to Semiautomated Fabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laboratory protocols for producing thin‐film pH electrodes for sterilized single‐use technologies have been successfully developed into a semiautomated workflow, with higher throughput and precision of membrane thickness. Accuracies are within 0.05 pH units versus ground truth, and uncertainty analysis reveals the largest sources of error to be derived

From Nature to Engineering: Mortar Volume and Interfacial Mechanics in Bioinspired Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural armors like nacre, this study explores how varying the volume fraction of the soft mortar layer impacts the interfacial strength and toughness of bioinspired ceramics. Experimental and computational analysis reveals that higher mortar volumes increase energy dissipation but reduce interfacial stiffness, offering insights for ...

Sufficient Conditions on the Exponential Stability of Neutral Stochastic Differential Equations with Time-Varying Delays

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
The exponential stability is investigated for neutral stochastic differential equations with time-varying delays. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) technique, some delay-dependent criteria are established to ...
