Characterizations of Certain Recently Introduced Distributions [PDF]
Various characterizations of the Beta Weibull Geometric distribution of Bidram et al. (2011), the New Generalized Exponential distribution of Bidram et al. (2012), and the Gamma Exponentiated Weibull distribution of Pinho et al.

Inferences on the Weibull Exponentiated Exponential Distribution and Applications [PDF]
In this article, an alternative method of defining the probability density function of GeneralizedWeibull-exponential distributions is proposed. Based on the method, the distribution can also be calledWeibull exponentiated exponential distribution.

The Comparison Some Extended Weibull Distribution (Weibull (W), Exponentiated Weibull (EW), Exponentiated Exponential Weibull (EEW)and Additive Weibull (AW)) for the wind Speed Probability Modelling [PDF]
Accurate wind speed modeling is critical in estimating wind energy potential for harnessing wind power effectively. One of the bases for assessment of wind energy potential for a specified region is the probability distribution of wind speed, therefore

A new heavy tailed distribution with actuarial measures
Actuaries are constantly on the lookout for heavy-tailed (HT) distributions in order to model data important to business and actuarial risk problems. In this article, we describe a novel type of heavy-tailed distribution that may be used to model data in

Truncated Weibull–exponential distribution: methods and applications
AbstractThis paper introduces a truncated Weibull-exponential distribution and provides a thorough insight into its mathematical characteristics. These characteristics include moments, generating functions, inverse distribution function, and entropy. Various measures are also discussed about the distribution's reliability. A simulation study is carried

THE MARSHALL-OLKIN EXPONENTIAL WEIBULL DISTRIBUTION
A new four-parameter model called the Marshall– Olkin exponential–Weibull probability distribution is being introduced in this paper generalizing a number of known lifetime distributions. This model turns out to be quite flexible for analyzing positive data. The hazard rate functions of new model can be increasing and bathtub shaped.

A Weibull Generated Exponentiated Exponential Model: Properties and Bayes Interval Prediction [PDF]
Motivated by the fact that the so-called Weibull generated exponentiated exponential distribution (WGEED) accommodates for non-monotone as well as monotone hazard rate functions (HRFs), we give some properties of this WGEED and explore its use in life ...

q-exponential, Weibull, and q-Weibull distributions: an empirical analysis [PDF]
In a comparative study, the q-exponential and Weibull distributions are employed to investigate frequency distributions of basketball baskets, cyclone victims, brand-name drugs by retail sales, and highway length. In order to analyze the intermediate cases, a distribution, the q-Weibull one, which interpolates the q-exponential and Weibull ones, is ...

The Exponentiated Weibull-Power Function Distribution [PDF]
In this article, we introduce an extension referred to as the exponentiated Weibull power function distribution based on the exponentiated Weibull-G family of distributions. The proposed model serves as an extension of the two-parameter power function distribution as well as a generalization to the Weibull power function presented by Tahir et al.
