Experimental Validation of Thermoregulatory Modeling for Human Back Exposure at 28 GHz

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
This study investigates skin temperature rise during dorsal exposure to 28 GHz quasi-millimeter waves using an electromagnetic–thermal computational modeling framework considering thermoregulation.

Measurement and Computational Modeling of Radio-Frequency Electromagnetic Power Density Around GSM Base Transceiver Station Antennas [PDF]

open access: yesAUT Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2017
Evaluating the power densities emitted by GSM1800 and GSM900 BTS antennas isconducted via two methods. Measurements are carried out in half a square meter grids around twoantennas. CST Microwave STUDIO software is employed to estimate the power densities

The heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HAT) of the SLC7/SLC3 family: A structure−function relationships and relevance to human pathology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.

Using computational models of learning to advance cognitive behavioral therapy

open access: yesCommunications Psychology
Many psychotherapy interventions have a large evidence base and can help a substantial number of people with symptoms of mental health conditions. However, we still have little understanding of why treatments work.

From prediction to adaptation: rethinking the epistemic role of inhalation toxicology

open access: yesFrontiers in Toxicology
Inhalation toxicology has long aimed to predict the health effects of airborne substances before exposure occurs, relying on stable dose-response relationships and well-characterized hazards.

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

CFD–ML Approach for Predicting Breathing-Zone PM2.5 in Indoor Cooking Environments [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Cooking activities generate high concentrations of PM2.5, which degrades indoor air quality and increase occupant exposure. Although Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can accurately resolve airflow and pollutant distributions in such environments, the ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

A cell-based computational modeling approach for developing site-directed molecular probes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2012
Modeling the local absorption and retention patterns of membrane-permeant small molecules in a cellular context could facilitate development of site-directed chemical agents for bioimaging or therapeutic applications.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
