Reducing Polypharmacy in Extended Care
Southern Medical Journal, 1995In this 5-year prospective study, we determined the feasibility of reducing polypharmacy in a long-term care institution by a systematic review of the pharmacy records. At 6-month intervals, the computer printout of all medications prescribed to patients in a 550-bed institution was reviewed.

Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 1971A bstract : Seven case reports are used to illustrate various aspects of quality care for the ill aged in an extended care facility or a nursing home. The majority of these patients require maximal nursing care for activities of daily living.
