Method for extending the depth of focus in X-ray microscopy

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
Transmission X-ray microscopy (TXM) is a powerful, nondestructive and three-dimensional imaging tool that has been applied in many fields. However, the ability to image large size samples using high-resolution TXM is restricted due to a limited depth of focus (DOF).

Perception of relative depth interval : Systematic biases in perceived depth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Given an estimate of the binocular disparity between a pair of points and an estimate of the viewing distance, or knowledge of eye position, it should be possible to obtain an estimate of their depth separation.

Preliminary outcomes of a new extended depth-of-focus intraocular lens: prospective study after bilateral implantation

open access: yes, 2021
In the extended depth-of-focus (EDoF) intraocular lens (IOL) technology, the focus is extended longitudinally improving the range of vision from far to intermediate, creating a more natural and smoother defocus curve.

Rational filter design for depth from defocus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The paper describes a new, simple procedure to determine the rational filters that are used in the depth from defocus (DfD) procedure previously researched by Watanabe and Nayar [4].

The Influence of the Level of Monovision upon Early Outcomes Following the Bilateral Implantation of an Enhanced Monovision Intraocular Lens

open access: yesVision
This article provides an assessment of the impact of different levels of monovision upon early visual outcomes and quality of vision (QoV) following the bilateral implantation of enhanced monovision intraocular lenses (IOLs).

Extended depth-of-focus microscopy via constrained deconvolution

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Optics, 2007
We derive a method for extended depth-of-focus imaging, i.e., a method to render a 2-D image of a thick specimen, such that all the structures within the specimen appear in focus and with greatly increased contrast. We acquire a single image while moving the specimen through focus.
