On energy conservation in extended magnetohydrodynamics [PDF]
A systematic study of energy conservation for extended magnetohydrodynamic models that include Hall terms and electron inertia is performed. It is observed that commonly used models do not conserve energy in the ideal limit, i.e., when viscosity and resistivity are neglected.

A contribution to the theory of the extended Lagrangian formalism for rheonomic systems [PDF]
In this paper the generalization of the notion of variation in the extended Lagrangian formalism for the rheonomic mechanical systems (Đ. Mušicki, 2004) is formulated and analyzed in details.

Analytical results connecting stellar structure parameters and extended reaction rates [PDF]
Possible modification in the velocity distribution in the non-resonant reaction rates leads to an extended reaction rate probability integral. The closed form representation for these thermonuclear functions are used to obtain the stellar luminosity and ...

The historical evolution and research trends of life cycle assessment
Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a widely used tool for environmental decision-making; however, it still has theoretical and practical limitations. Through a comprehensive review of traditional LCA development and case studies, this study examines the ...

In non-interacting or weakly-interacting 2D electron systems, the energy of the extended states increases as the perpendicular magnetic field approaches zero: the extended states "float up" in energy, giving rise to an insulator.

Designing energy-efficient wireless access networks: LTE and LTE-advanced [PDF]
As large energy consumers, base stations need energy-efficient wireless access networks. This article compares the design of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks to energy-efficient LTE-Advanced networks. LIE-Advanced introduces three new functionalities -

Balancing for unstable nonlinear systems [PDF]
A previously obtained method of balancing for stable nonlinear systems is extended to unstable nonlinear systems. The similarity invariants obtained by the concept of LQG balancing for an unstable linear system can also be obtained by considering a past ...
