Modelling extended-lifetime wireless sensor networks

2015 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits, and Systems (ICECS), 2015
This paper presents a wireless sensor network model for water quality monitoring. The network's topology is a modified mesh topology designed to be deployed along a lakeshore. The proposed model includes a dynamic routing table and an energy-aware protocol, which make the network scalable and extend its lifetime.

Extending the Lifetime of Ad Hoc Wireless Networks

2006
This paper presents a new algorithm, Extra, for extending the lifetime of ad hoc wireless networks. Extra tries to conserve energy by identifying and switching off nodes that are momentarily redundant for message routing in the network. Extra is independent of the underlying routing protocol and uses exclusively information that is collected locally ...

Extending the lifetime of anticoagulant oligodeoxynucleotide aptamers in blood

Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 2000
We have investigated (123)I and (125)I DNA aptamer analogs of anticoagulant DNA aptamers to thrombin exosite 1 and exosite 2 for thrombus imaging potential. Two severe problems are rapid clearance from circulating blood and blood nuclease. With aptamers (unlike antisense) the nucleotide analogs used in polymerase chain reaction-selection cycles also ...

An Application-Specific Forecasting Algorithm for Extending WSN Lifetime

2013 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing in Sensor Systems, 2013
Data reduction strategy is one of the schemes employed to extend network lifetime. In this paper we present an implementation of a light-weight forecasting algorithm for sensed data which saves packet transmission in the network. The proposed Naive algorithm achieves high energy savings with a limited computational overhead on a node.

Extending the lifetime of M2M wireless networks through cooperation

2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012
In this paper we show how a cooperative Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol can help extend the lifetime of Machine to Machine (M2M) networks. A comparison between non-cooperative Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) schemes (retransmissions performed only from the source) and a cooperative retransmission scheme (all the stations in the network are ...

Extending qubit lifetime through a shaped environment

Science, 2016
Quantum Electronics Qubits are the quantum two-level systems that encode and process information in quantum computing. Kept in isolation, qubits can be stable. In a practical setting, however, qubits must be addressed and interact with each other. Such an environment is typically viewed as a source of decoherence and has a detrimental effect on a qubit'
