An extended quasi two-phase mass flow model
International Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics, 2018Abstract Employing a physics-based full dimensional two-phase mass flow model (Pudasaini, 2012), we construct an extended quasi two-phase bulk mixture model for a debris flow as a mixture of non-Newtonian viscous fluid and solid particles down a channel.

A two‐phase flow extended finite element technology modeling CO2 in fractured porous media
Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, 2022AbstractCarbon dioxide (CO2) geological sequestration technology is an attractive means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This work aims to seek the transport mechanism of CO2 in fractured porous media. A two‐phase flow extended finite element model is developed in this paper.

An extended two-phase model for Mullins effect in swollen rubber
Materials Research Innovations, 2014It is well-known that dry rubber exhibits Mullins effect under cyclic loading condition. For swollen rubber, this response is found to strongly depend on the degree of swelling. In the present work, the modelling of the Mullins effect in swollen rubber under cyclic compressive loading is addressed.

Extended NRTL model for PEG + salt based aqueous two‐phase system
Asia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2009AbstractLiquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) data of aqueous poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) 2000–sodium citrate systems were determined experimentally at 25°, 35° and 45 °C. Experimental techniques and analytical methods were described in the previous article (T. Murugesan, M. Perumalsamy. J. Chem. Eng. Data. 2005; 50, 1392–1395 [22]). The NRTL (nonrandom, two‐

Extended two-phase flow model with mechanical capability to simulate gas migration in bentonite
Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2014Abstract Long-term gas migration through clays cannot be simulated by conventional two-phase flow models alone owing to the presence of material deformation. In this article, an extended two-phase flow model that incorporates mechanical effects is proposed.

AbstractIn this article, a computational model is presented for the analysis of coupled thermo‐hydro‐mechanical process with phase change (evaporation/condensation) in fractured porous media in order to model multiphase fluid flows, heat transfer, and discontinuous deformation by employing the extended finite element method.

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2005
This paper models the magnetic coupling effects of phase windings in a typical two-phase excited 6/4 switched reluctance motor (SRM). The flux-linkage characteristics, obtained from the two-dimensional finite-element analysis of the motor, show the major effect of the mutual coupling between the phases particularly for high levels of phase currents ...

Aqueous two phase systems (ATPS), consisting of two incompatible aqueous solutions, are widely used in biological extraction. In recent years, many experimental studies on the phase behavior of ionic liquid(IL)–inorganic salt ATPS systems have been reported but few investigations of the thermodynamics of the IL-based ATPS have been reported.
