“Extension of APL to tree-structured information”
Proceedings of the eighth international conference on APL - APL '76, 1976A new outlook on the APL system management together with a new set of primitive functions are proposed to be included in the APL language to manage tree-structured information.Since the appearance of APL, this language has been prone to extension requirements, possibly due to the fact that it allows such an ease of computing and programming, that the ...

ISSUES AND EXTENSIONS FOR INFORMATION MATCHMAKING PROTOCOLS
International Journal of Cooperative Information Systems, 1996As agents see more use in dynamic, distributed information networks, information sharing facilitators, such as the SHADE matchmaker, and underlying knowledge-based agent communication protocols, such as the Knowledge Query and Manipulation Language, will see increased use.

Extensions of Fisher Information and Stam's Inequality
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2012We explain how the classical notions of Fisher information of a random variable and Fisher information matrix of a random vector can be extended to a much broader setting. We also show that Stam's inequality for Fisher information and Shannon entropy, as well as the more generalized versions proved earlier by the authors, are all special cases of more ...

Extensions of the Informative Vector Machine
2005The informative vector machine (IVM) is a practical method for Gaussian process regression and classification. The IVM produces a sparse approximation to a Gaussian process by combining assumed density filtering with a heuristic for choosing points based on minimizing posterior entropy. This paper extends IVM in several ways.

Logics for information systems and their dynamic extensions
ACM Transactions on Computational Logic, 2011The article proposes logics forinformation systems, which provide information about a set of objects regarding a set of attributes. Both “complete” and “incomplete” information systems are dealt with. The language of these logics contains modal operators, and constants corresponding to attributes and attribute values.

Extensible information-seeking environments
1996A large class of user interfaces for information retrieval can be characterised as over-determined. That is, the user interface stringently prescribes the ordering of dialogs and what information must be entered and how results should be inspected. One consequence is a constraining, step-by-step style of interaction.

Informational Theories of Consciousness: A Review and Extension
2011In recent years a number of people have suggested that there is a close link between conscious experience and the differentiation and integration of information in certain areas of the brain. The balance between differentiation and integration is often called information integration, and a number of algorithms for measuring it have been put forward ...

CoBase: A Scalable and Extensible Cooperative Information System
Journal of Intelligent Information Systems, 1996A new generation of information systems that integrates knowledge base technology with database systems is presented for providing cooperative (approximate, conceptual, and associative) query answering. Based on the database schema and application characteristics, data are organized into Type Abstraction Hierarchies (TAHs).
