Dual Gramian analysis: Duality principle and unitary extension principle

Mathematics of Computation, 2015
Summary: Dual Gramian analysis is one of the fundamental tools developed in a series of papers by Amos Ron and Zouwei Shen for studying frames. Using dual Gramian analysis, the frame operator can be represented as a family of matrices composed of the Fourier transforms of the generators of (generalized) shift-invariant systems, which allows us to ...

The Extension Principle

2013
In Sect. 15.6 we have discussed how set theoretic operations like intersection, union, and complement can be generalized to fuzzy sets. This section is devoted to the issue of extending the concept of mappings or functions to fuzzy sets. These ideas allow us to define operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, or taking squares as

An Extension of Babinet's Principle

Journal of Modern Optics, 1991
Abstract It is shown that the diffraction pattern produced by any of two complementary screens and the one produced by a slit having the shape of their boundary, oscillates in opposite phase. This extension of Babinet's principle is illustrated with examples from nuclear scattering and classical optics.

An Extension Principle for Fuzzy Logics

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 1994
AbstractLet S be a set, P(S) the class of all subsets of S and F(S) the class of all fuzzy subsets of S. In this paper an “extension principle” for closure operators and, in particular, for deduction systems is proposed and examined. Namely we propose a way to extend any closure operator J defined in P(S) into a fuzzy closure operator J* defined in F(S)

An Extension of Rayleigh's Principle

International Journal of Mechanical Engineering Education, 1994
Steidel's extension of Rayleigh's method for calculating the natural vibrational frequencies of mechanical systems with two degrees of freedom provides an elegant method to obtain exact results. In the present article this approach, which perhaps has not been exploited as much as it could be, is first reviewed and then several examples of the ...

Entropy variation in extension principle

IEEE SMC'99 Conference Proceedings. 1999 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (Cat. No.99CH37028), 2003
Two types of fuzzy sets are considered in this paper. One is "hill shaped" and the other type is "bell shaped". The formulas are proposed by which the entropy relationship between the original fuzzy set and the mapped image fuzzy set based on the extension principle can be obtained easily and directly.

SOME PRINCIPLES OF EXTENSIVE READING

2021
At the present time, reforms in the sphere of higher education in the country are being carried out under the leadership of the President. We can see this as an example of the adoption and implementation of the Strategy of Action on the five priority directions of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.

AN EXTENSION OF THE SUBSE UENCE PRINCIPLE

Studia Scientiarum Mathematicarum Hungarica, 2000
We prove ha any tigh sequence of random variables con ains a subsequence which satis .es,after any permu a ion of its erms,a large class of limit heorems valid for i.i.d.random variables. This extends a basic heorem of Aldous on subsequence behaviour.

The Principles of Scalp Extension

The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, 1994
This article is written to help the reader understand the physical principles behind scalp extension. A review of the history and physiology of scalp extension is first discussed. The newest form of scalp extension is then reviewed and a series of equations developed by the author are analyzed to help the reader understand what is really occurring ...
