Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

CURRENT-VOLTAGE CHARACTERISTICS FOR TWO SYSTEMS OF QUANTUM WAVEGUIDES WITH CONNECTED QUANTUM RESONATORS [PDF]
We investigate two 2D quantum systems, each consisting of a waveguide and a resonator, connected through narrow holes. Systems features are studied by the solution of scattering problem.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Holography of massive M2-brane theory: non-linear extension
We investigate the gauge/gravity duality between the $$\mathcal{N} = 6$$ N=6 mass-deformed ABJM theory with $$\hbox {U}_k(N)\times \hbox {U}_{-k}(N)$$ Uk(N)×U-k(N) gauge symmetry and the 11-dimensional supergravity on LLM geometries with SO(2,1)$$\times $

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

A Possible Extension of Shannon's Information Theory
: As a possible generalization of Shannon's information theory, we review the formalism based on the non-logarithmic information content parametrized by a real number q, which exhibits nonadditivity of the associated uncertainty.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
