Minimization problems for the exterior domain
Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations, 1997This paper contains a discussion on the existence of minimizers for \[ V(u)={1\over 2}\int_{\Omega } | \text{grad } u(x)| ^2dx +\int_{\Omega }F(u(x))dx \] subject to \[ I(u)=\int_{\Omega }G(u(x))dx =\lambda >0, \] where \(F(u)\) and \(G(u)\) are given functions and \(\Omega \) is the complement of a bounded domain in \({\mathbb{R}}^N\).

Low Mach Number Limit on Exterior Domains
Acta Mathematica Scientia, 2012This paper is concerned with the low Mach number limit for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations in an exterior domain. We present here an approach based on Strichartz estimate defined on a non trapping exterior domain and we will be able to show the compactness and strong convergence of the velocity vector field.

On the scattering frequencies of the laplace operator for exterior domains
Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, 1972AbstractIn this paper we show that the so‐called scattering frequencies of the Laplace operator over an exterior domain, subject to Robin or Dirichlet boundary condition, cannot lie in certain portions of the upper half‐plane. The excluded sets depend only on the type of boundary condition and the radius of the smallest sphere containing the scattering

On nonstationary Stokes problem in exterior domains
1997Summary: The paper is concerned with \(L_p\)-estimates for solutions of the \(n\)-dimensional exterior Stokes problem. The main result of the paper are new \(L_p-L_q\) estimates \[ \begin{gathered} \bigl|v(t)\bigr |_q \leq C_1|v_0|_pt^{-\mu}, \tag{1}\\ \bigl|v_t(t) \bigr|_q\leq C_2 |v_0|_p t^{-\mu'}, \tag{2}\\ \bigl|\nabla v(t)\bigr|_q\leq C_3 |v_0|_p ...

Steady Stokes Flow in Exterior Domains
1994In this chapter we shall analyse the Stokes problem in an exterior domain. Specifically, assuming that the region of flow Ω is a domain coinciding with the complement of a compact region (not necessarily connected) we wish to establish existence, uniqueness, and the validity of corresponding estimates for the velocity field v and the pressure field p ...

ON THE OSEEN PROBLEM IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL EXTERIOR DOMAINS
Analysis and Applications, 2006In this paper, we prove existence and uniqueness results for the Oseen problem in exterior domains of ℝ3. To prescribe the growth or decay of functions at infinity, we set the problem in weighted Sobolev spaces. The analysis relies on a Lp-theory for any real p such that 1 < p < ∞.
