Periodontitis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: A critical appraisal

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract In spite of intensive research efforts driving spectacular advances in terms of prevention and treatments, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain a leading health burden, accounting for 32% of all deaths (World Health Organization. “Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs).” WHO, February 1, 2017, https://www.who.int/news‐room/fact‐sheets/detail ...

Prevention of stillbirths associated with umbilical cord abnormalities: A clinico‐pathological overview

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Stillbirths affect millions of pregnancies every year worldwide, and obstruction of the umbilical cord blood flow is one of the main causes of fetal death. This review provides a clinico‐pathological overview of cord abnormalities potentially associated with antepartum stillbirth, describing the mechanism determining the death and addressing ...

Wuda Granule Improves the Gastrointestinal Motility via Gut‐Brain Axis in Beagle Dogs

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
Stress sensors were implanted in the gastric body, sinus, duodenum, jejunum, and colon of beagle dogs to record gastrointestinal motility. Gastrointestinal contractile motility was assessed before and after the lateral ventricular injection of Wuda granule, intravenous atropine instillation, and bilateral cervical vagotomy.

Flexible pressure sensor with tunable sensitivity and responsive range for adaptive wearable electronics

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
A flexible pressure sensor is developed based on a sponge‐like porous composite material with TEMs, which can switch between low and high compression modulus modes by driving the expansion of TEMs. It is capable of detecting physiological signals such as arterial pulse, respiratory status, touch force, and motion state, while also being combinable with
