Induced and endogenous acoustic oscillations in granular faults

open access: yes, 2019
The frictional properties of disordered systems are affected by external perturbations. These perturbations usually weaken the system by reducing the macroscopic friction coefficient.

Fault Injection for Embedded Microprocessor-based Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Microprocessor-based embedded systems are increasingly used to control safety-critical systems (e.g., air and railway traffic control, nuclear plant control, aircraft and car control).

Fault slip rates for the active External Dinarides thrust‐and‐fold belt [PDF]

open access: yesTectonics, 2012
We present estimates of slip rates for active faults in the External Dinarides. This thrust‐and‐fold belt formed in the Adria‐Eurasia collision zone by the progressive formation of NE‐dipping thrusts in the footwalls of older structures. We calculated the long‐term horizontal velocity field, slip rates and related uncertainties for active faults using ...

Radiotherapy Delivery in Deep Inspiration for Pediatric Patients—Final Results of the Phase II Feasibility Study TEDDI

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction The TEDDI trial tested the feasibility and reproducibility of deep‐inspiration breath‐hold (DIBH) in pediatric patients referred for radiotherapy. This report presents final results, including patient‐reported outcomes (PRO) and dosimetric comparison of DIBH and free‐breathing (FB).

An optimal fixed-priority assignment algorithm for supporting fault-tolerant hard real-time systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The main contribution of this paper is twofold. First, we present an appropriate schedulability analysis, based on response time analysis, for supporting fault-tolerant hard real-time systems.

Robust Adaptive Sliding Mode Fault Tolerant Control for Nonlinear System with Actuator Fault and External Disturbance

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2019
In this paper, an adaptive sliding mode fault tolerant control (ASMFTC) approach is proposed for a class of nonlinear systems with actuator fault, uncertainty, and external disturbance. Specifically, first, a novel observer is proposed to estimate the state, actuator fault, and external disturbance.

Distributed fault estimation design of interconnected systems with external disturbances [PDF]

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2019
In this study, a new distributed fault estimation observer (DFEO) design method is proposed based on unknown input observer (UIO) for interconnected systems with external disturbances. The coupling terms among interconnected subsystems are utilised to construct DFEO.

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Fault classification of three phase induction motors using Bi-LSTM networks

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Systems and Information Technology, 2023
The induction motors are back bone of the modern industry and play very important role in manufacturing and transportation sectors. The induction motor faults are mainly classified into internal faults such as inter turn short circuits , broken rotors ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.
