The Occurrence of Microplastic Ingestion in Commercial Marine Fish in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 35, Issue 4, Summer 2026.
ABSTRACT Microplastics are polymer‐based particle compositions of various toxic chemicals with size less than 5 mm. Due to their small size, microplastics can be ingested and accumulate in body tissues of organisms. This raises concerns about their toxicity being transferred to humans via food consumption.

Beyond CUDOS and DECAY: Mapping Research Norms With an Institutional Logics Wheel

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 61, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The normative landscape of academic research is increasingly fragmented. Classical CUDOS norms and counternorms coexist across profession, market, corporation, state and community logics, yet existing scholarship rarely explains how these norms are patterned, how they interact, or how tensions between them are mediated. Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 9, 5 May 2026.
Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

Immortalization of Human Adult Alveolar Epithelial Cells to Study Environmental Exposures of the Distal Lung

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Alveolar epithelial cell type 1 (AT1) and type 2 (AT2) cells make up the saccular gas exchange units of the lung, called alveoli. Formation of alveoli during lung development accounts for the expansive surface area of the lung, allowing for proper respiration and delivery of oxygen to the body.
