Reconstruction of the Female External Genitalia
Urologic Clinics of North America, 1980The experience of the authors with the surgical reconstruction of female external genitalia is described. In all cases in which these procedures were used, reduction clitoroplasty resulted in satisfactory cosmetic appearance and the preservation of tactile sensation, and posterior flap vaginoplasty provided adequate introital capacity.

Reconstruction of male external genitalia with elephantiasis
Urology, 1977The surgical rehabilitation of a patient with severely deformed and functionally disabled genitalia due to long-standing lymphedema and infection is described and illustrated. The term "elephantiasis" has been applied to such gross lesions. Appropriate surgery to the penis, scrotum, and perineum has yielded a gratifying result.

Urologic Clinics of North America, 1992In the era of the debilitated or immuno-compromised patient, fungal infections may become more prevalent. Unusual lesions of the external genitalia may be a manifestation of systemic infection. The urologist should be aware of this possibility when confronted with an unusual ulcer, inflammation, induration, or "abscess" of the external genitalia.
