Rupture of a giant external iliac aneurysm six years after an aorto-bifemoral bypass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
peer reviewedWe report the case of a patient operated on for an aorto-iliac aneurysm with an aorto-bifemoral bypass who presented a metachronous iliac aneurysm rupture, six years later, because of aneurysmal degeneration. We performed bipolar ligation of

A Soft‐Tip Hydraulically Steerable Catheter for Enhanced Flexibility and Safety in Vascular Interventions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a hydraulically steerable catheter with a soft tip in vascular procedures. The steering soft tip achieves a minimal diameter of 2.6 mm and supports a 180° bend. Real‐time shape and position tracking, facilitated by segmentation and endpoint detection techniques, improves navigation.

Utility of exercise duplex imaging in a rare case of bilateral iliac artery endofibrosis in an ultramarathon runner

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques
External iliac artery endofibrosis is a recognized cause of exertional leg claudication in young, high-endurance athletes. However, significant diagnostic delays often occur owing to the inability of standard testing to replicate exercise-induced ...

Endovascular Therapy of Pseudoaneurysm and Arteriovenous Fistula in a Renal Graft [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A 31 year old male Caucasian received a renal cadaveric allograft. Reconstruction of an inferior polar artery was corrected pre-implantation. Delayed graft function occurred leading to dialysis support for one month.

The UW solution for canine kidney preservation: Its specific effect on renal hemodynamics and microvasculature [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The preservation effects of UW solution on renal hemodynamics and microvascular systems were studied in canine kidney autografts. In 72-hr UW-preserved kidneys, the microvessels of both cortex and medulla were completely visualized with silicon rubber ...

Collaborative Multirobot Navigation‐Assisted Magnetic Catheter Guidance and Shape Perception with Vascular Ultrasound and Electromagnetic Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The article develops a collaborative multirobot navigation system‐assisted magnetic catheter guidance and shape perception method using the information fusion of robotic vascular ultrasound imaging and electromagnetic tracking to reconstruct the 3D catheter's shape and vasculature. Results verify the effectiveness of the system and the potential of the

A Population‐Based Study of Limb Body Wall Complex With Proposed Features for Prenatal Diagnosis

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Limb body wall complex (LBWC) is a lethal condition comprising major congenital anomalies. Although currently diagnosed in the early prenatal period, historical diagnostic criteria are based on detailed pathological assessments. Prenatal and postnatal findings of LBWC and their phenotypic overlap with body stalk anomaly (BSA) and recurrent ...
