Ambulatory External Electrocardiography Monitoring: Holter, Extended Holter, Mobile Cardiac Telemetry Monitoring

Cardiac Electrophysiology Clinics, 2021
Ambulatory external electrocardiography (AECG) monitoring is effective as an evidence-based diagnostic tool when suspicion for cardiac arrhythmia is high. Multiple modalities of AECG monitoring exist, with unique advantages and limitations that predict effectiveness in a variety of clinical settings.

Self and External Monitoring of Weight

Psychological Reports, 1978
Subjects were 23 obese men and women who received a behavioral weight control program and were randomly assigned to one of two experimental conditions: (1) subjects were weighed at the beginning of each treatment session and were encouraged to weigh themselves at home for “continuous feedback” or (2) subjects were not weighed at group meetings and ...

A new quantitative external monitoring technique

The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1966
Abstract A new external monitoring technique is described for measuring the amount of radioactivity within an internal organ. The variable distance between the detector and target organ or area is calculated trigonometrically by using two matched probes which are adjusted to register the same maximal level of activity coming from the source.

External Behavior Monitoring Mirrors Internal Behavior Monitoring

Journal of Psychophysiology, 2005
Abstract: The discovery of mirror neurons in monkeys has reshaped thinking about how the brain processes observed actions. There is growing evidence that these neurons, which show similar firing patterns for action execution and observation, also exist in humans.

External quality assessment (EQA) for CoaguChek monitors

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2010
SummaryAnticoagulant control facilities are being overwhelmed by requests for monitoring and large numbers of patients are not therefore receiving treatment. Procedures designed for point-of-care testing have therefore been developed, the most popular being the CoaguChek.

External Dosimetry and Personnel Monitoring

Health Physics, 2005
The early history of our profession, as well as the discoveries that form its foundations, provide an interesting background on which to assess our progress in measuring exposure to ionizing radiation (i.e., dosimetry). One of the first challenges faced by scientists working with radiation and radioactivity was appropriate measurement techniques.

External Ground Monitoring v. Receiver Monitoring

Journal of Navigation, 1991
The transmissions from GPS and GLONASS navigation satellites include information about the state of those transmissions as perceived by the control centre. In the case of GPS, for example, this information is contained in the data stream in Subframe 1 Word 3.

[External Ocular Movement(EOM)Monitoring].

No shinkei geka. Neurological surgery, 2023
The intraoperative monitoring of extraocular motor nerves allows optimal skull base surgery by protecting the cranial nerves. For detecting cranial nerve function, several methods, such as external ocular movement monitoring with an electrooculogram(EOG), electromyogram(EMG), and piezoelectric device sensors, are present.

Monitoring Fracture Site Properties With External Fixation

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1983
An in-vitro system has been devised to monitor the properties of an idealized fracture site immobilized with a Hoffman-Vidal external fixator. A dial gage was used to measure the relative pin displacements under controlled axial loading. The displacement measurements were then used in conjunction with a finite element model to predict the modulus of an

Automated Online Monitoring of Distributed Applications through External Monitors

IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, 2006
It is a challenge to provide detection facilities for large-scale distributed systems running legacy code on hosts that may not allow fault tolerant functions to execute on them. It is tempting to structure the detection in an observer system that is kept separate from the observed system of protocol entities, with the former only having access to the ...
