Harmonization and external quality assessment of antithrombin activity assays
Thrombosis Research, 2012In the framework of a Dutch project named "Calibration 2000" harmonization of antithrombin activity assays was studied. The commutability of potential calibrators for antithrombin was assessed by means of a twin-study design, which is a multicentre, split-patient sample, between-field-methods protocol.

An External Quality Assessment Scheme for Total Bilirubin
Annals of Clinical Biochemistry: International Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 1988A regional quality assessment scheme for total bilirubin methods is described. The scheme provides liquid sera at three concentrations and allows method linearity to be assessed. The sera were shown to be adequately stable over the periods of assessment.

External quality assessment data analysis by microcomputer
Computers in Biology and Medicine, 1987Microcomputers are now widely used in clinical laboratories because of their low price and the availability of a wide variety of software that can be adapted to the users' requirements. The continuously increasing numbers of patients, tests and the use of automation are additional factors which emphasize the need for computers. A microcomputer software

External Quality Assessment Schemes: need for recognised requirements
Clinica Chimica Acta, 2001Programs for Accreditation of clinical laboratories consider participation in External Quality Assessment Schemes (EQAS) a key element in the evaluation of testing procedures and improving them. One of the main functions of EQAS is to assess whether laboratories perform tests competently.
