Dislocation of the shoulder joint is common and is mainly anterior. Several reduction methods have been described and the external reduction method (ERM) is one of the newest. We modified the ERM by making some additions in hopes to develop a less painful, quick and simple method.

External rotation of the hip was found to have a statistically significant correlation with the incidence of stress fractures, in a prospective study among Israeli infantry recruits of possible anthropomorphic predictors of risk for stress fractures. Soldiers in whom hip external rotation was greater than 65 degrees were at a higher risk for tibial and

External rotation of the auditor
Journal of Management Control, 2012The European Commission (EC) discusses in her regulation draft of 2011 the external mandatory auditor rotation (audit firm rotation) principally after six years as a reform measure to increase auditor independence, which could complement the internal mandatory rotation (auditor rotation) by the 8th EC directive of 2006.

The flow external to a rotating torus
Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics, 2015Imparting a sudden rotation to a torus (or other symmetric smooth object) in an otherwise quiescent, viscous fluid serves to generate boundary layers at the object’s surface. These boundary layers are known to exhibit a finite-time singularity at the equator which manifests in a thickening of the boundary layer and subsequent development of an ...

[External rotation osteotomy of the humerus for treatment of external rotation deficit in palsies].
Operative Orthopadie und Traumatologie, 2008Aim of the procedure is shifting the arc of shoulder rotation for an improved external rotation, reaching a physiological elbow flexion without striking of the lower arm against the thorax; improvement of the activities of daily living because guidance of the hand to the face is possible without any simultaneous evasive movements of the shoulder.Palsy ...

Although supination-adduction is the most common mechanism producing ankle injury, external rotation of the foot with respect to the lower leg is the most common mechanism resulting in ankle fracture [46,47,54]. Lauge-Hansen described two varieties of external rotation fracture, depending on whether the foot was supinated or pronated at the moment of ...

External Rotational Deformities in Club Feet
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1977External rotation of both a structural and functional nature occurs in the lower limb of some patients with club feet. These external rotational deformities are due to two unrecognized and untreated combined deformities within the hindfoot and mid-foot: hindfoot varus and talo-navicular subluxation.

Scapular Rotation to Attain the Peak Shoulder External Rotation in Tennis Serve
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2010The purposes of this study were (a) to describe the detailed movements of the shoulder complex during the cocking phase in tennis serve and (b) to determine the contribution of the scapular rotation to the peak shoulder external rotation attained at the end of the cocking phase.Twenty tennis players performed flat tennis serves with the maximum effort,

External rotation method of shoulder dislocation reduction
Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians, 1979We used the external rotation method for reducing anterior shoulder dislocations on 85 consecutive patients seen in our emergency department during a one-year period. In relatively inexperienced hands, the external rotation method was successful on first attempt in 80% of cases. There were no complications attributable to the technique itself.

Introduction Immobilization in external rotation after a first-time traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation has been shown to improve the position of the labroligamentous lesion. The purpose of the present study was to determine, with the use of MRI, the effect of 15° and 30° external rotation braces on the position of the labral lesion.
