Inhibition of Pseudomonas aeruginosa slime production by staphylococcal extracellular product
Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1980Staphylococcus aureus produced an inhibitory factor that suppressed slime formation by Psuudomonas aeruginosa but had little effect on the growth of the organism. The inhibitory factor was not found in broth cultures but could be extracted from cultures grown on solid agar.

Journal of Fermentation and Bioengineering, 1989Abstract The plant-pathogenic bacterium Erwinia carotovora FERM P-7576 produced lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in culture broth. A combination of two carbon sources, such as pectin and other carbohydrates, promoted LPS production. The organism produced the LPS during exponential growth.
