Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

The A3 adenosine receptors (A3ARs) are overexpressed in prostate cancer. AR 292 and AR 357, as A3AR antagonists, are capable of blocking proliferation, modulating the expression of drug transporter genes involved in chemoresistance, ferroptosis, and the hypoxia response, and inducing cell death.

Possible role of human ribonuclease dicer in the regulation of R loops
R loops play an important role in regulating key cellular processes such as replication, transcription, centromere stabilization, or control of telomere length. However, the unscheduled accumulation of R loops can cause many diseases, including cancer, and neurodegenerative or inflammatory disorders. Interestingly, accumulating data indicate a possible

Cerebral organoids were employed as a novel model to explore the neurotoxicity of soman. Soman inhibited acetylcholinesterase activity, increased cell apoptosis and upregulated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress markers glucose‐regulated protein 78 (GRP78), activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP).

Extraction Systems with Associated Extractants [PDF]
The review examines the characteristics of the extraction behaviour of extractants with pronounced self-association in the organic solution. The importance of the correct choice of the model of the liquid for an adequate description of the properties of the system is discussed. The bibliography includes 127 references.

To extract or not to extract in secretin radioimmunoassay?
International journal of pancreatology, 1988The importance of an ethanol extraction procedure in the radioimmunoassay of plasma secretin was investigated. The extraction step led to a higher assay sensitivity of 0.35 fmol/ml, compared to 5.93 fmol/ml using unextracted samples. The rise of plasma secretin after infusion of a low dose of secretin (1 pmol.kg-1.h-1) in 10 healthy humans was only ...

A nonwetting slug placed at the end of a capillary tube is unstable: a small displacement results in the complete extraction of the liquid from the tube. We study two limiting cases, corresponding to a slug viscosity larger or smaller than that of the surrounding liquid.
